Biodesign technology replaces the particularly heavy and invasive structures of reinforced concrete with a structure composed of natural granulated stone combined with high performance, technologically advanced resins and other materials for structural strength, integrated with the best waterproofing technology on the market.

Biodesign technology, with a solid belief in protecting the environment, is able to create pools that are aesthetically very compatible with natural surrounds and offer the possibility to realise pools that encourage not only swimming but a total liveability, thanks to the ease in which beaches, underwater seating, swimming areas and much more can be shaped and modelled, optimising the internal furnishing of the pool like any other environment in the home.

The elastic EPDM waterproofing, with characteristics that permit movement up to 300%, external to the structure, follows the natural movement of the underlying earth with no damage to the structure.

The heart of the innovative Biodesign technology is its internationally patented building process.

The procedure for building Biodesign pools involves 7 easy steps:

1st step – Shaping the excavation

1st step – Shaping the excavation:

During the excavation, the pool is shaped directly in the earth with various depths, including beaches and underwater seating areas.

2nd step – Placement of protective geo-textile material 2nd step – Placement of protective geo-textile material
3rd step – Placement of waterproof EPDM liner

3rd step – Placement of waterproof EPDM liner

A waterproof liner in epdm is spread over the geo-textile material.

4th step – Placement of the structural net for the foundation

4th step – Placement of the structural net for the foundation:

The first structural net for the consolidation of the rough layer is placed over the EPDM liner.

5th step – Spreading of the rough layer of structural paving

5th step – Spreading of the rough layer of structural paving:

Natural granulated quartz is mixed with non-toxic resins and then spread by hand over the entire area of the pool surface.

6th step - Placement of the intermediate structural net

6th step - Placement of the intermediate structural net:

Once the first layer of granulated stone has dried, a second structural net is laid for the consolidation of the final layer.

7th step – Spreading of the final layer of structural paving

7th step – Spreading of the final layer of structural paving:

The granulated stone is mixed chosen by the client for the finish with non-toxic resins and spread in a second layer by hand over the entire surface of the pool. After lightly sanding the surface, a final layer of non-toxic resin is applied.

No construction work or cement casting is necessary in the realisation of a Biodesign pool.

The result is a structurally solid, completely personalised pool, unique in form and elegance, with minimal environmental impact.
