Nergis Aslan, CEO of Tureks International Exhibition and member of UHE, spoke on 16 May 2026 in Guangzhou, China, as part of the Global Pool & Spa Industry Forum, held during Asia Pool & Spa Expo. On this occasion, she highlighted the strategic role of Türkiye and its surrounding region in the pool, spa and wellness sectors.
Her presentation, entitled "Pool & Spa Sector in Türkiye and the Region: Trends, Opportunities, and the AQUALAND Platform", analysed the development potential of the Turkish market and its areas of influence through the concepts of the experience economy and urban wellness.
Türkiye, a strategic hub for regional markets and international cooperation
During her presentation, Nergis Aslan underlined Türkiye's advantages as a logistics and trade platform between several markets. Istanbul's strategic location, providing access to a population of 1.5 billion within a four-hour flight radius, was presented as an important lever for international brands and investors.
Her speech also highlighted the growing role of regional tourism investments in the development of the pool, spa and wellness market. In this context, pools, aquatic areas and leisure spaces are no longer seen solely as comfort facilities, but as structural elements of the customer experience and urban quality of life.
Nergis Aslan therefore developed a vision based on urban wellness, in which water-shaped living spaces contribute to wellbeing, sustainability and the attractiveness of cities. The principles of holistic design, sustainability and user experience were presented as key factors for the future of the industry.
The forum also marked the international presentation of the AQUALAND vision, developed under the Tureks umbrella to unite industry players on a shared platform. This approach aims to strengthen strategic cooperation and support international brands seeking to expand into surrounding markets from Türkiye.
Through this participation, Tureks International Exhibition aims to strengthen the position of the Turkish pool and spa sector within major global trends, while encouraging connections between innovative solutions developed in Türkiye and international professionals.
