aquanale is more than just a platform for innovative products, solutions and trends. A forum for expertise, continuous training and international exchange

Resource protection, regulations and marketing

Two topics are currently at the forefront of the swimming pool and wellness sector: energy efficiency and water conservation. Both will therefore be addressed from different perspectives within the International Swimming Pool & Wellness Forum (ISWF), organised by the German association bsw in cooperation with IAKS (International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities), BDS (German Lifeguards Association), and other organisations as part of aquanale.

Among other things, the program will include a session presenting sustainable planning criteria in pool construction. Best practice examples will provide insights into responsible water management and the first climate-neutral outdoor pool. A panel discussion on sustainability and decarbonization is also planned. In addition to topics related to resource protection, lectures on current regulations, safety, and marketing will round off the program.

Young generation, safety, and swimming ability

The next generation is also being taken into account. The forum will, for example, present the profession of pool attendant and provide information on various training and further education opportunities for pool staff. The international initiative "Every child a swimmer"--promoting greater swimming safety--will also be featured at the forum. Overall, the Aquanale Congress demonstrates the wide scope of the swimming pool and wellness sector.

Looking beyond borders 

The forum is not only broadly positioned in terms of topics, but also internationally. Three examples illustrate this on the forum stage:

• Presentation & Pasticcini
  Cologne is often called "the northernmost Italian city". Many so-called guest workers settled here, bringing with them a touch of Dolce Vita, which blended with Rhineland cheerfulness to create a unique joie de vivre. A taste of this will be offered: on Thursday, 30 October at 10:15 am, the Italian pool association Assopiscine will be a guest and invite visitors under the title "Caffè Italia" to a mix of presentation and coffee enjoyment. The perfect chance to learn more about the Italian pool market and engage informally with its representatives.
• Bienvenue Belgique
  Belgium, the official partner country for the 2025 edition, will also be in the spotlight. On Thursday, 30 October, at 3:45 pm, the congress will say "Bravo, Belgien". Pool professionals from Germany's neighbouring country will present the award-winning projects of a competition specially created for the trade fair. In addition, data and facts about the Belgian swimming pool and wellness market will be presented. Afterwards the Belgian Federation of Swimming Pool and Wellness Professionals invites everyone to a get-together with Belgian specialities.

• Apéro & Swiss updates
  Another international partner of aquanale is Switzerland, represented by aqua suisse. On Wednesday 29 October at 4:30 pm, Swiss pool experts will present their market and current developments. And afterwards - as could hardly be otherwise in a Swiss setting - the meeting will end with a convivial aperitif.
