On the occasion of the World Sauna Forum, Harvia has strengthened its ties with the educational and scientific ecosystem of Central Finland. The sauna manufacturer has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the University of Jyväskylä, JAMK University of Applied Sciences and the Jyväskylä Educational Consortium Gradia.
This collaboration will combine education, research, industrial development and innovation, with the aim of creating new solutions around wellbeing, technology and sustainable lifestyles. For Harvia, the initiative is part of its international growth strategy and its focus on developing new skills.
Innovation, skills and sustainable sauna
Present in nearly 100 countries, Harvia has its headquarters and main production site for saunas and sauna components in Muurame, Central Finland. This partnership will bring the needs of an international industrial company closer to local academic expertise, in areas such as energy efficiency, smart manufacturing, new materials, digital customer experience and sustainability.
Joint projects may involve students, teachers, researchers and Harvia experts working on concrete product development challenges, applied research, internships, theses and international collaborations.
"The sauna is one of Finland's most recognised phenomena globally, but it is also a rapidly evolving market in wellbeing, technology, and sustainable lifestyles. We continuously need new expertise and fresh perspectives, which is why this type of collaboration with the educational and research institutions of Central Finland is so important to us," explains Matias Järnefelt, CEO of Harvia Plc.
Through this partnership, signed as part of the World Sauna Forum, Harvia confirms its commitment to supporting the evolution of the sauna market by drawing on research, education and industrial innovation.
