Eurospapoolnews - official media partner of the aquanale - is running a series of articles in honour of the trade fair's jubilee. This edition describes why the aquanale advisory board has been an essential part of the success of this international trade fair since it was launched in 2003.

The aquanale is a mirror image of the sector

Intensive and continuous communication with branch representatives and multipliers

Trade fairs always reflect their industry with regard to visitor target groups, exhibitors, products, services and innovations. But reflections of this kind cannot be planned and developed from the ground up by trade fair companies alone. Planning a fair requires intensive and regular communication with branch representatives and multipliers.

This continuous feedback is always coordinated by industry associations in conjunction with an exhibition company. Everything comes together in an advisory board composed of representative exhibitors. Both the German Association for Swimming Pools and Wellness ( bsw), founder and ideal sponsor of the aquanale - international trade fair for Sauna.Pool.Ambiance, and Koelnmesse found it vital to appoint a representative advisory board.

Bert Granderath (grando GmbH), Gründung Vorsitzender des aquanale-Messebeirates

Bert Granderath (grando GmbH) has been chair of the aquanale advisory board since it was founded in 2003 and is also vice president of the German Association for Swimming Pools and Wellness (bsw)

The aquanale advisory board has supported the event since its very beginning

The success story of the aquanale has proved this decision to be right. Over the past almost 20 years, the continuous growth of the aquanale, the resulting changes that had to be made in the choice of halls used on the Cologne exhibition grounds, changes made to the order of trade fair days and adjustments to the aquanale opening times were always decided on the initiative of or in close coordination with the aquanale advisory board. Often, these decisions were made in collaboration with the advisory board of the International Trade Fair for Public Space, Sports and Leisure Facilities  (FSB) taking place at the same time.

A constructive and systematic review of the aquanale is also held shortly after every trade fair. This quickly became an advisory board standard that has proved its worth and raised the aquanale exhibition format to the level so appreciated by exhibitors and visitors.

All members of the board have access to an international network

Of course, this is all underpinned by the board members' fantastic national and international connections across all stages of the value creation chain and to operating companies in the private and public swimming pool and spa sector. Bert Granderath (director of grando GmbH) has been chair of the aquanale advisory board since it was founded. He is also the vice president of bsw and currently president of the European Union of Swimming Pool and Spa Associations  (EUSA).

The next aquanale will be held from the 26th to the 29th of October 2021.

It will be the 10th aquanale trade fair. So the globally acclaimed trade fair of the swimming pool and wellness industry will be celebrating a special jubilee.

The international trade fair for Sauna.Pool.Ambience will be held in halls 7 and 8 of the Koelnmesse in October 2021. The themes will be private swimming pools, public swimming pool construction, swimming pool technology, public and private saunas and spas and green living. The 2021 aquanale plans to build upon the outstanding success of the trade fair held in November 2019: the international influence of the 2019 event was greater than ever and the quality of both supply and demand was unprecedented. Almost 28,000 visitors from 128 countries attended the fair to inspect the range of services provided by 281 exhibiting companies from 31 countries.
