EMEC is expanding its range with SCL, a new generation of amperometric probes entirely designed and manufactured by the Italian water treatment specialist. Intended in particular for swimming pools, spas and commercial and public facilities, the SCL probe measures free chlorine over a range of 0 to 20 mg/l, with integrated temperature compensation and a T90 response time of approximately one minute.

Amperometric measurement, automatic cleaning and direct RS485 connection to PEF controllers

This new generation features a 3-electrode system, with a gold electrode and PEEK shaft. An automatic ball-cleaning system helps reduce fouling and maintain measurement performance over time. The probe can operate at temperatures ranging from 5 to 70 °C and withstand pressures of up to 8 bar, extending its field of application to pressurised systems and installations using warmer water.

The probe connects directly to EMEC PEF series controllers via an RS485 bus, without the need for an intermediate transmitter. The SCL family also covers other disinfection parameters, including total chlorine, chlorine dioxide, hydrogen peroxide, ozone, peracetic acid, bromine and chlorite.
