Mobilisation to reduce environmental impact at Piscine Global Europe 2022

Optimisation of water and energy consumption, waste management, a novel approach to water treatment, the challenges of pool renovation and maintenance... Sustainable development is a key topic of discussion in the sector. Pool professionals are aware of this and are taking action to reduce the environmental impact of private and public pools, whether through technologies or new approaches and practices.

Throughout the exhibition, which will be held from November 15 to 18, 2022 in Lyon - Eurexpo, various themed areas and key scheduled moments have been organised, providing the opportunity for understanding of these concerns to develop, in particular:

  • Seminars in the Pool Arena, a new inspirational area at the very heart of the exhibition, dedicated to discussions and round tables on hot topics and major challenges faced by the sector: promotion of new solutions, emergence of new skills, communication on these aspects.
  • Sustainable technical innovations presented at the Pool Showcase, and via the innovations and exceptional pool projects showcased by the Pool Innovation Awards competition

At its own level, Piscine Global Europe is seeking to meaningfully reduce its own environmental impact and is making concrete commitments.

In terms of communication, all documents (brochures, flyers, plans, programs, invitation cards, press documents, etc.) are printed on recycled paper, many communication tools and visitor badges are dematerialized and materials recyclables are used for the small signs at the exhibition.

Eco-design will also be at the rendezvous of this edition by the integration of recyclable or reusable materials (wood, card, etc...) in the design of stands and common areas, the reuse and rental of furniture for the event, the use of recyclable carpet in the exhibition aisles and reusable carpet tiles in certain areas.

In terms of transport and mobility, the exhibition strongly encourages to use car-sharing and to travel to the Eurexpo exhibition park using sustainable or public transport.

Piscine Global Europe has also developed an eco-responsible approach to waste management (waste sorting during set-up, installation of differentiated waste bins in the aisles at the exhibition to sort visitors' waste, provision of a waste sorting guide, partnership established with Valdelia, an eco-organization approved by the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy), concerning electricity and water consumption or even in catering practices, with in particular the axing of all plastic, replaced by the use of renewable, compostable materials by on-site caterers for containers, cutlery and packaging , priority given to supplies from organic, local and seasonal produce sources or the recovery of unsold items by the association " The Missing Link" to fight against food wastecooked food by the association "Le Chaînon manquant" to reduce food waste.
