Next interbad to be held from 21 to 24 September 2021

Together with the German Association for the Recreational and Medicinal Bath Industry and after consultation with exhibitors and close partners, Messe Stuttgart has decided to postpone interbad until 21 to 24 September 2021.

Many exhibitors are uncertain on account of the current situation in Germany and other countries

interbad in autumn would have been the first industry platform in the areas of swimming pools, saunas and spas that was planned since the corona restrictions and could have been held subject to conditions after the current relaxations of the regulations. For this purpose, a hygiene and safety concept was developed to ensure that the trade fair could be safety staged. However, many exhibitors are uncertain on account of the current situation in Germany and other countries. This uncertainty recently manifested itself in the form of cancellations. In spite of extensive preparations, this development was reflected in the demand and booking level for interbad. The discussions between Messe Stuttgart and interbad exhibitors revealed that there is no adequate basis for interbad this year.

Messe Stuttgart is therefore forced to postpone interbad until 21 to 24 September 2021. "Our objective is to stage a successful trade fair. A trade fair to which we can welcome exhibitors and visitors from the areas of swimming pools, saunas and spas without any worries and where profitable business contacts are forged," said Andreas Wiesinger, a member of the Board of Management of Messe Stuttgart. This cannot be reliably guaranteed at present. We very much regret the developments since the industry is therefore losing its central platform for exchanging information this year. This platform would have been important after the months with the corona crisis."

A decision wich exemplifies the great care, farsightedness and consideration of the concerns of the exhibitors and visitors

This decision was taken in close cooperation and after amicable discussions with the German Association for the Recreational and Medicinal Bath Industry, partners and exhibitors. "Although it is a great pity that interbad 2020 cannot take place, we at the German Association for the Recreational and Medicinal Bath Industry fully back the decision by Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH.

What's more, the decision exemplifies the great care, farsightedness and consideration of the concerns of the exhibitors and visitors. We are also working on a conceptual development in which digital offers will enhance the trade fair and the programme of interbad 2021," said Berthold Schmitt, President of the German Association for the Recreational and Medicinal Bath Industry.

Prof. Dr. Carsten Sonnenberg, President of the German Sauna Association, added: "We fully support interbad and will devote our entire energy to ensure that interbad 2021 repeats the successes of the last interbad events."

The next interbad will take place from 21 to 24 September 2021. The regularly scheduled interbad in 2022 will now be held in Stuttgart in 2023.
