Established since 1989, Dutch manufacturer Health Company is emphasising the health benefits of its infrared heat cabin range.

The company says that infrared heat creates a much more natural heat than that in conventional steam saunas. Infrared heaters use 20% of their energy to warm the air, while the remaining 80% is transformed into heat which then penetrates the body.

According to the Health Company, medical research demonstrates that exposure to long wave infrared heat of 5.6-15μ can produce excellent therapeutic effects, and is the safest way to heat the body. Hospitals, doctors, therapists, health resorts, specialists, and rehabilitation centres all use the intensive effects of infrared.

As the user’s body heats up, blood circulation increases, the body starts to perspire in order to cool itself, and so the user will lose moisture and burn calories. Injured muscles are reckoned to repair faster as a large amount of oxygen-rich blood circulates through the body, improving the body’s immune system. Drainage of toxic materials is also accelerated as a result of the increased blood circulation and perspiration.

Regular use of an infrared heat cabin is also said to demonstrate positive effects for sufferers of rheumatoid arthritis and skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and acne, because intensive perspiration expels toxins from the deepest layers of the body.

All the company’s heat cabins are made from Canadian Red Cedar, which works as a natural disinfectant and has a pleasant scent. Canadian Red Cedar is splinter-proof and contains material that prevents rotting and fungial growth – it has also been varnished on the outside to guarantee durability.

The heat cabins use Incoloy heaters that have been specially designed and are registered world-wide. These heaters are made of plated material and filled with magnesium oxide, and are claimed to be more durable than most heaters currently in use.
