The organisers of the 2011 PoolSpaPatio show – the key pool and spa trade show in the USA – have announced the winners of the ‘Best New Product’ and ‘Best Green Product’ competitions held at November’s event.

Overall winner of the ‘Best New Product’ category was Industrial Test Systems with its Pool Check-i digital test strip, which uses the same technology as that used by doctors for fast analysis of urine samples.

Taking second place was Australian company CompuPool, for its CompuPool E-Series salt water chlorinator.

Third place was awarded to US company King Technology, for its Frog Jump Start mineral system that removes contaminants and sets residual chemical levels at spa start-up.

In the green products category, the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (APSP) was awarded ‘Best Green Product’ in recognition of its two new energy efficiency standards for portable electric spas and residential pools and spas.

Second place went to Pentair for its IntelliFlo variable speed pump, while third place was awarded to American West Windmill & Solar for its solar-powered filtration pump.

The winners have been publicised later than planned due to a key member of staff being indisposed.
