luton centre

The inhabitants of Luton in Bedfordshire are being given the opportunity to name the town’s new £26 million sports and aquatics centre, currently under construction and due for completion in 2012.

On completion, the facility will provide an Olympic-size 50m swimming pool, diving centre and sports hall. It will be run on behalf of Luton Borough Council by Active Luton.

Active Luton chief executive Helen Barnett said: “The centre is much more than a swimming pool, and we want the community to come up with a name that accurately reflects this.
