In Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, AQUABOX provides a temporary swimming facility while the local indoor pool is being rebuilt.
Prefabricated timber construction helps municipalities maintain pool access during renovation and new-build projects
Developed by POOL out of the BOX, the building uses prefabricated timber modules designed for disassembly and reuse: once its initial use is complete, it can be dismantled and reassembled at another location.
Far from being a basic temporary facility, AQUABOX features a 25-metre stainless-steel pool with five lanes and a partially movable floor. Its high level of prefabrication and life-cycle-based approach offer municipalities a flexible way to maintain swimming provision during lengthy renovation or new-build projects.
At interbad, 4a Architekten will present the project, while an accompanying excursion to AQUABOX in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen will give industry professionals an opportunity to discover the modular indoor pool in operation.
