TR2The new Triogen TR2 UV disinfection system for domestic pools is hailed as a cost-effective unit that saves on both capital and running costs while improving water quality.

Available in the UK from distributor Golden Coast, the TR2 low-pressure UV system is used in conjunction with chemical treatments, substantially reducing the amount of chlorine or other sanitiser needed. This means lower levels of chemicals in the water and lower chemical bills. Irradiation through its high-output UV lamps is claimed to be highly effective in controlling algae and killing chlorine-resistant organisms, and no by-products are released into the water.

There are four models in the TR2 range, giving a choice of two, three or four UV lamps, according to the flow to be treated – which can be anything up to 40m3/h. A UV dose of 30 mJ/cm2 can be delivered.

Electricity consumption is reckoned to be minimised by the efficiency of the low-pressure lamps, and by an automatic pre-set internal flow switch that shuts down the unit when there is no flow. The units are designed for easy, inexpensive installation and connection, and maintenance costs are reduced by features such as a 100% corrosion-resistant, UV-inhibited polymeric reactor vessel and 18-month UV lamp life.

Golden Coast managing director Jamie Adams says: “Triogen’s developments have given pool and spa owners many new options and have brought increased levels of confidence in the health of wet leisure environments. The Triogen range, which includes a wide variety of systems for different circumstances, can offer a cost-effective solution for every owner.”
