Heat Pumps 4 Pools is launching a new heat pump range and a new liquid pool cover for 2014. Called Eco+, the new heat pumps are designed for above-ground or small in-ground pools, and are claimed to be quick to set up and remove in the winter. They come complete with a fitted UK plug and RCD, and hose connections for above-ground pools.

They are said to continue to function even at low flow rates (for example, if the filter is polluted), and can be used with sand filters and cartridge filters. An exceptionally high COP value of 5 for such a small and compact heat pump is claimed, and they operate from +8°C air temperature.

Also being launched is the CoverFree liquid pool cover which the company says reduces water evaporation by up to 85% and heat loss by up to 70%. CoverFree is said to be ideal for pools that are not covered or remain uncovered for long periods of time. The product is described as safe, non-flammable, non-hazardous, biodegradable, pH neutral and does not contain any alcohol. It has been independently safety tested and can be used for both indoor and outdoor pools.
