Recently Pentair has directed its attention towards the UltraFlow® pump, one of the best selling pool pumps of Pentair Water pool and Spa. With this in mind they wanted to provide an easy ‘green’ solution for the many existing UltraFlow® owners which are becoming more and more interested in environmentally and energy friendly solutions. All of this has led the company to the realization of the IntelliFlo® UltraFlow® VS.

The IntelliFlo® UltraFlow® VS is ‘the pump of the future' and combines all the strong points of a conventional UltraFlow® with the innovative characteristics of the ‘green’ IntelliFlo®. This innovative pump is easily interchangeable with any existing conventional UltraFlow® pump. (from 0.55 kW until 2.2 kW). Both pumps have the same connections and dimensions, so no big plumbing job necessary.

The major advantage of using this pump is of course the tremendous energy savings. Energy consumption of a pool can drop up to 90 % just by using this pump. How is this possible? The variable speed technology allows a pump to run at very low speeds thanks to the permanent magnet motor. And running slowly dramatically reduces the energy consumption.

But this pump also has many other advantages. It is for instance extremely silent. An IntelliFlo® produces 45 Db (Decibels) at reduced speed (speed 1). Any regular single speed pool pump like the UltraFlow® Plus 1.5hp produces about 67 dB.

The IntelIiFl0® UltraFlow® VS is also multi—talented pump thanks to its control drive to control the variable speed technology. It allows you to select a very precise speed to perfectly suit your needs at any time of the day or night. Thanks to its multi-speed capabilities a pool owner can do night filtration at low speed to maintain the best possible pool chemistry, fine-tune an overflow pool, fine-tune water features (fountains, waterfalls, laminars), heat or suction clean a pool, etc. This innovative pump allows you to rotate between 400 to 3450 RPM (revolutions per minute) in 10 RPM increments to fine tune a pool to get the perfect settings for the perfect speed.

And finally, a pool landscape changes continuously. In case of additional future applications, a pool owner just needs to connect the new application and increase the RPM until satisfied with the supplied flow. No need to install an additional pump to get more capacity.
