The oceanirium Afrykarium in Wroclaw has now been they are according working at full scale for aproximately one year. To construct the building, a total volume of 36,000 m3 of concrete and 4,800 t of steel was used, and 100,000 m3 of earth had to be removed. In the whole Afrycarium water system, i.e. exhibition pools, filters, sludge tanks and kilometres of pipelines, there are 15,000,000 litres of water (15,000 m3), which equals the volume of six Olympic-size swimming pools. Exchange of water, i.e. filtering, in each of the pools takes about one hour. To "salt" The Red Sea basin and produce sea water, about 140 tonnes of salt are needed.

TECHNOL, the manufacturer of multimedia pressure filters and other equipment for water treatment has delivered 52 filters of diameter 2.8m for this project. All the filters are according to DIN19605/19643, 4bar work pressure and where needed with a PVC internal liner for chemical protection against ozone. This project will give to the company, which counts now 25 years of activity, a great reference for similar projects in the future.
