Bringing together more than 350 exhibitors and increasing its international nature

Piscina & Wellness Barcelona closed its doors last Friday 18th of October. This edition, which coincided with its 25th anniversary, has stood out for the solidity and dynamism of a sector that is committed to innovation, sustainability and digitalization as the keys to development. The trade fair, which was attended by more than 350 exhibitors from 25 countries in 35,000 m2 of raw exhibition space, once again reflected the progress of the sector with 54% registered international visitors.

International buyers

Piscina & Wellness Barcelona, organized by Fira Barcelona in collaboration with the Spanish Association for Pool Sector Professionals (ASOFAP in its Spanish initials), brought together the most important companies in the sector, 58% coming from 25 countries at the Gran Via venue. As far as visitors are concerned, the forecasts have been confirmed with an increase of 9 percentage points being registered of the presence of international buyers, who in 2017 made up 45% of the total and this year the figure has risen to 54%. A dynamic sector

The Piscina & Wellness Barcelona chairman, Eloi Planes, affirms that "the swimming pool and wellness industry remains solid and dynamic, focusing above all on finding new solutions to make efficient use of resources while respecting the environment." Planes stresses that wellness is another key to the development of the sector, which is increasingly linked to the world of hotels and tourism, adding that "for all these reasons, our industry enjoys credibility and international prestige, as demonstrated by the international exhibitors and visitors who took part in the trade fair and who, once again, accounted for more than half of the attendees. And in this regard, I want to emphasize that despite having coincided with a few critical days for the Catalan capital, this edition of Piscina & Wellness Barcelona has gone very smoothly, demonstrating once again the strength of the event and the sector it represents."

According to the trade fair's director, Ángel Celorrio, "this edition of the event has confirmed the vitality of the sector and its constant effort with regards to new technologies, internationalisation and economic revitalisation. According to what exhibitors and visitors have conveyed to us, the trade fair has responded satisfactorily to their demands. The organisers would like to acknowledge all of the hard work and participation."

"Towards zero impact"

Piscina & Wellness Barcelona has joined the initiative "Towards zero impact" with the aim of reducing the generation of waste at the trade fair, with the use of fewer materials, reusing and recycling products and avoiding food waste. It is worth mentioning that the structures and decoration of the trade show's common areas, designed this year by the architect Josep Ferrando, were made of recycled materials that will be transformed and reused in future events.

Piscina & Wellness Barcelona will celebrate its next edition in October 2021 at the Gran Via venue of Fira Barcelona.
