The Aquatic Arena in Papua: Two competition pools using Skypool panels

The Indonesian site of the sporting event

Fluidra is to build three pools at the Aquatic Arena in the Indonesian province of Papua. The venue is due to host the aquatic competitions during National Sports Week in 2020, an event held every four years featuring athletes from different disciplines drawn from all Indonesian provinces.

Two Olympic pools

The project includes the design and installation of a 51.2 x 25 x 3 meter Olympic swimming and water polo pool to be fitted with an automatic bulkhead unit and 20 x 25 x 5 meter Olympic diving pool using Skypool panels from AstralPool to be fitted with a spa.

Skypool panels concept

Skypool is AstralPool's range of easy-to-assemble prefabricated panel pools that can be adapted to fit existing and new infrastructures. Galvanized in zinc, they are protected against rusting, safe and long-lasting.

AstralPool equipment

Fluidra will also install a warm-up pool to be fitted with a spa. All pools will be constructed in line with FINA requirements. Filtration and pumping for the pools will be provided by Praga filters and KIVU pumps, while Ultraviolet automatic equipment will be installed to disinfect the pools. The company will also provide competition accessories which will be used during the championships.

Many projects around the world

This is the latest high-profile commercial pool project to be awarded to Fluidra in Indonesia. The company recently constructed four pools for the aquatic competitions for the 2018 Asian Games which took place in Jakarta. The company also installed an Olympic-size pool at the Aceh Aquatic Center. Skypool panels were also used in the construction of all these competition pools.

ASTRALPOOL's SkyPool swimming pool has also been chosen and approved by FINA for the 2019 Pan American Games.

In another aquatic area, Fluidra is to supply and install equipment for 22 pools for Debrecen Nagyerdei Strand, a water park in the city of Debrecen, in eastern Hungary.
