The show is inviting entries for the Piscina BCN 2011 Awards which distinguish the companies that present the most innovative and sustainable products. As always, all the products exhibited at the show are entitled to take part in the awards and for the first time this year the show is also including projects that have been completed in the last two years.

True to its firm commitment to innovation, the show is organizing the Piscina BCN Awards which aim to publicly recognise the innovative and enterprising nature of companies working in this sector.

The awards consist of a diploma which will be presented at a gala dinner during the course of Piscina BCN.

The deadline for entering for the awards - which can be done on the

show's website, www.salonpiscina.com - is 14.00 on 15 September.

Awards for the most innovative and sustainable products

The Piscina BCN 2011 Award for Innovation will be awarded to the system or service that has used an innovative approach in the construction process, use or maintenance of swimming pools, wellness centres or sports and recreational facilities. The Sustainability Award will be given to the product that guarantees efficient use of resources (water, energy, raw materials) and respects the environment throughout its life-cycle (manufacture, start-up, use, dismantling and recycling).

Piscina BCN 2011 Awards for best finished projects

The jury will designate the Piscina BCN awards in three different categories: Residential Swimming Pools, Wellness Centres and Sports and Recreational Facilities, after checking that the criteria of sustainability and innovation were adhered to in their construction. Only works completed between 1 September 2009 and 31 August 2011 are entitled to enter for this award.

The show will have a dedicated exhibition area for state-of-the-art products that exhibitors wish to draw particular attention to. This area is clearly of great benefit to visitors, who can discover the latest innovations in swimming pools, wellness centres and sports and recreational facilities from various companies in a single area.

So far, 250 companies - 29% more than at this time in 2009 - have confirmed they will be attending the next International Swimming Pool Exhibition, Piscina BCN, at the Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via Exhibition Centre on 18-21 October 2011.
