Held in conjunction with the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA), the event is billed as a forum for attendees to exchange best practices, engage in international networking and participate in hands-on activities.

It empowers them to create effective drowning prevention education programs in their communities,” comments event chairperson Sue Nelson.

The event complements the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Pool Safely campaign, aimed at cutting the estimated 300 annual deaths due to drowning among children under five years old in the USA.

Safety tips, informational videos, and children’s games and activities are available from the NDPA and CPSC websites.
